Kate Middleton Wears Emilia Wickstead for St Patrick’s Day

On the celebration of St Patrick’s Day, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, presented shamrocks to Irish Guards during a visit to Aldershot Barracks in Aldershot.

The event marks the Duchess’ first solo military appearance in the absence of Prince William who is currently serving in the Falklands.

Dressed in a green creation by designer Emilia Wickstead, Kate looked stunning and elegant. She paired the dress with a Lock & Co chocolate brown hat and an Irish Guards brooch that reportedly belonged to the Queen Mother when she visited the Irish Guards every St Patrick’s Day.

The Duchess presented the three-leafed clovers to 40 officers of the battalion. Up to 450 soldiers were on parade, accompanied by the regimental mascot Conmeal, an Irish wolfhound who received his own sprig of shamrock from the Duchess.

During the event, Kate also posed for a group photo with the 1st Battalion Irish Guards. The tradition of presenting the shamrocks started during 1901 by Queen Alexandra who was the wife of King Edward II.

The Daily Mail reported that last year, the Duke of Cambridge was appointed to the honorary rank of Colonel of the Irish Guard, and on June 25 the couple presented operational service medals in Windsor to the battalion for their Afghan deployment.

Kate Middleton Wears Alice Temperley to ‘War Horse’ Premiere

Kate Middleton and Prince William looked amazing at the UK premiere of the Steven Spielberg movie ‘War Horse.’ At the rainy Leicester Square, Kate looked stunning in a floor-length lace black and nude dress by one of her favorite designers, Alice Temperley. The v-neck also looked very similar to her Alexander McQueen wedding dress.

“They are brilliant girls — good Brit stock,” Alice Temperley has previously stated of the Middleton sisters. “It’s refreshing, because there’s this whole world of celebrities, but they are so well mannered and polite. They are true British girls, and they are very good ambassadors for British fashion and what we represent.”

The premiere was held in London in aid of The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry. The famous director added: “It’s a very prestigious honor because they represent an entirely new era in British royalty that has the entire world excited. When they came to America, that was one of the most exciting events, I think, that we’ve enjoyed for some time, so it’s such an honor to be here in the Uk to be able to meet them and to be able to show them, and all of us, War Horse. I am delighted that the UK Premiere of War Horse is in aid of ‘The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry’ and that this special occasion is attended by two of the patrons, Their Royal Highnesses, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. War Horse encapsulates for me a timeless personal story of courage. The movie, which I am proud to say was filmed here in Great Britain, deals with the discovery of humanity against conflict, and celebrates bravery, loyalty, tenacity and hope. We are honored to dedicate this event in aid of the Foundation which recognises the welfare of those who serve their country in the British Armed Forces.”

It was a royal switcheroo. Newlyweds Kate Middleton and Prince William were supposed to follow Prince Charles and Camilla to their Scotland estate to ring in the New Year. However, it was all a ruse. England’s royal couple spent New Year’s Eve with the Middleton family in Kate’s hometown of Berkshire. Pippa, a professional party planner, threw a gala event at the Middleton home in their backyard. Here’s the Daily Mail with more:

Prince William and Kate marked their first New Year as man and wife with the Middletons – in a tent traditionally used by reindeer herders in Lapland. Their teepee-style ‘kata’ was hired from an upmarket events firm by Kate’s sister Pippa for a party she hosted in her parents’ back garden in Berkshire. According to a villager, Kate and William, who was wearing a flat cap and green Barbour jacket, were laughing and joking, and ‘looked full of the joys of the season’. – read more
