Adidas Headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany

The newest headquarters for famous company Adidas was recently completed in Herzogenaurach, Germany, by KINZO. Entitled WORKOUT, the project displays a highly modern architecture and pays tribute to the values of the brand.

Round about 1,700 Adidas’ staff members have moved into a new working environment at the corporation’s headquarters in Herzogenaurach, a building distinguished by an exterior and an interior which strike new paths – literally: Glass walkways cross the inner courtyard, intertwining like the laces of a sport shoe. WORKOUT opens up new realms of creativity and possibilities for team play  and displays folders, textiles, balls and shoes with the visual quality and continuity of a film set“- the designers informed in an official press release.

Creating the impression of a honeycomb, all the design elements that make up this original office building were designed to interact with each-other, rather than making sense on their own. The overall concept defining the project is that of “teamwork”. KINZO also designed the furniture elements, taking into account the latest sustainability trends. All the chairs, desks and lockers are finished in an environmental material. Some of the products produced by the corporation are used as decorating items, bringing splashes of colors in the office areas.

Green Bistro in Osnabruck, Germany

In a world where some people are too busy to even breathe, the need for fast-pace meals is getting more and more …global. But for those who like to mix speed with a little elegance, we found a modern bistro that has the ability to make lunch a pleasant experience. Designed by Siddik Erdogan & Jorn Frohlich, the Green Bistro is located in the Lengermann & Trieschmann department store, in Osnabruck, Germany. It has a sleek, modern design, complete with a lovely surrealist game of lines and shapes.

The atmosphere created by the design elements at the Green Bistro in Germany is contemporary and fresh, perfect for invigorating a person who just got out of the office. The ceiling is probably the focal point of the entire small restaurant, as it displays unusual decorative shapes. But the rest just seems to add up naturally, don’t you agree? Just have a look at the white chairs and tulip tables- can you think of a more inspired furniture choice?

With so many unusual “organic” decorations, the project gets a fluid look and features no sharp edges. Creating a sustainable setting, where people would eat healthy food, was the main idea when planning this modern bistro.

Daily Dream Home – House S, Germany

Architects: Roger Christ
Location: Wiesbaden, Germany
Assistants: Ronni Neuber, Julia Url
Structural Engineering: Schmitt + Thielmann und Partner
Project Year: 2011
Project Area: 452 sqm
Photographs: Thomas Herrmann

Built in the 60′s by architect Wilfried Hilger for his family, House S was recently redesigned by German studio Roger Christ. The existing single-level bungalow was cleverly transformed into a two-story contemporary residence. Located in Wiesbaden, Germany, the modern dwelling is a masterpiece of contemporary urban developments, creating a balanced volumetric architecture that allows further building if necessary. “The new structure creates zones with different qualities: in the south-west a meadow with a small apple tree, in the north a stone paved courtyard with a pine tree and in the east a roof terrace with a magnolia. In one of the new boxes the master bedroom, dressing room and bath room is located. The two other boxes function as personal living room and home office for the landlords. In the first floor nearly all walls and installations were removed, so that a large living room could be created. An open kitchen was placed in the midst of that living area. This floor additionally includes the children’s rooms with dressing room and bathroom. In the ground floor a guest room and an additional apartment is located. By the usage of triple glazed windows and highly effective insulation an energetically optimized building could be realized.”

Hotel Q! in Berlin, Germany

Minimalist, modern and highly original. These are the main attributes of Hotel Q! in Berlin, Germany. Designed by international architectural firm GRAFT, this accommodation unit is definitely not one that will leave you indifferent.

The design and contemporary atmosphere of Hotel Q! in Berlin are truly captivating. Challenging the classical spacial “rules”, the architects managed to create folding, distorted interiors. Sand-like and lifted floors contribute to the “odd”, yet appealing feel of this hotel. According to the architects, “the flow of this inside landscape creates generous spatial connections rather than a typical dissection into multiple singular spaces. The topographical treatment of the design problem maximizes versatility of program and creates a continuous flow of form and space. The visitor will discover a narrative that departs from conventional perceptual experience and allows for ambiguous readings of the space“.

Some of the facilities of the hotel include wireless Internet, iPod docking station in all rooms, flat-screen TVs, Nintendo-Wii in all suites, Spa with Finnish sauna, steam bath, Japanese wash zone, massage and cosmetics and meeting rooms. There is a bar and a restaurant at the customer’s disposal, both with a design that seems perfectly suited for a hotel with such a strong personality.
