Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts announced construction will begin this December on the 444-room luxury resort located in Golden Oak at Walt Disney World Resort, with a target opening date of 2014. Toronto-based Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, the world’s leading luxury hotel brand, acquired the land from Disney in August 2008.

“Four Seasons had the unique opportunity to purchase a fantastic site at the Walt Disney World Resort,” says Kathleen Taylor, president and chief executive officer of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. “Then, we partnered with Silverstein and Dune, some of the world’s most astute players in real estate to develop the project, which enabled financial commitments to be secured and the project to move forward. We are also delighted to work with The Walt Disney Company, which shares our vision for a family vacation experience unlike any other.”

“We are very pleased to be working with Four Seasons on this exciting project,” says Larry Silverstein, president and CEO, Silverstein Properties, which will continue to oversee resort development and construction. “It’s a great design in a great location, and we’ve assembled a great team who are going to make this resort a reality in a few short years.”

Four Seasons resort will feature several dining venues including a rooftop restaurant with Magic Kingdom views; a spa with 18 treatment rooms; a fitness center; three pools and a “lazy river”; sports facilities including tennis courts, basketball court and climbing wall; recreational centers for children, teens and families; and meeting and event space plus a business center.

The development will encompass the existing Tom Fazio-designed Osprey Ridge 18-hole championship golf course, which will be renovated and subsequently managed by Four Seasons. Four Seasons may also add up to 40 Four Seasons Residence Club units and up to 90 Four Seasons Private Residences. Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort is an enclave located within the Golden Oak residential community, created and master-planned by Disney.

Golden Oak is a one-of-a-kind luxury residential resort community offering the unprecedented opportunity to purchase a home at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Especially designed for resort living, Golden Oak provides an entirely new way for families to connect with the world’s best known family destination and entertainment brand.

Golden Oak residential sales began in January, 2011. Custom, single-family homes are currently under construction and the first residents have recently started moving in to the one-of-a-kind community located at Walt Disney World Resort. Whether from the United States, South America or Great Britain, interested buyers all have something in common: a strong affinity for Walt Disney World Resort and a desire for a retreat where family and friends can enjoy time together creating lifelong memories.

Pursuitist on the Four Seasons Family Blog: Parents Guide to New York

The Pursuitist was a guest contributor to the Four Seasons Family Blog. Check out our article We ♡ the Big Apple — The Parent’s Guide. For my family, Four Seasons Hotel New York is the ideal hub and urban oasis. We ooh and aah when walking into the I.M. Pei-designed lobby. And my daughters delight in the warm welcome that they receive, complete with Beanie Babies (Ty Warner, of Ty Inc., is the proprietor) offered by the kind and diligent staff. As they whisk our luggage up to our room, we relax and enjoy lunch at the TY Lounge. The hors d’oeuvres are always a hit, especially the artisan cheeses and the warm German pretzels. Read more at:
