Fosamax and femur fractures : FOSAMAX: Is long-term use of drugs to strengthen bones and fractures associated with?
FOSAMAX, one in a class of drugs called bisphosphonates, is supposed to make bones stronger. But now there is growing evidence that for some women, or to take FOSAMAX alendronate public for more than five years can cause spontaneous fractures.
“We are seeing people just walking, walking down the steps, and patients who had been conducting low-energy,” said Dr. Kenneth Egol, professor of orthopedic surgery at the Medical Center at New York University Langone. “Very unusual, and femur is one of the strongest bones in the body.” Source
